Jesus was once asked what the two greatest commandments were.   He replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’" This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39.

Because of this, we place a high priority on helping others who are in need.  There are a variety of ways in which we show love to those who are in need through the ministry at LOTW.

• We sponsor NICA (Northside Inter-Church Agency), a local mission within our community, through donations and various acts of service throughout the year.
• We sponsor an international mission “Living Water International” through donations and adult mission trips.
• We have a “Day of Service” in which the congregation comes together and goes out in small groups to serve the community on that day.
• Every Christmas we sponsor dozens of children and/or families from within our community and buy them presents so that they can have gifts to open at Christmas.
• We have a professional counselling ministry in which people from the community can come and receive professional counselling that is based upon what they can afford and at a fraction of the cost of normal professional counselling services.
• We hold quarterly blood drives to help support local area blood banks.
• We have been involved in building homes for Habitat for Humanity.
• And many other ways in which we intentionally seek to help those in need around us.
