We seek to Live the Word by building our lives on the truth of Scripture, to Light the Way by pointing people toward the hope and salvation found in Christ, and to Love like Jesus through authentic ministry, compassion, and service.
Our desire is that everyone connected with LOTW would grow in their relationship with God, become more like Christ, and help others experience His truth, grace, and love.
What To Expect
At Light of the World, we take a strong stance on the Word of God and are unapologetic for it. During the pandemic, we remained open and allowed our members to choose for themselves if they wanted to wear a mask or how much they socially distanced. We regularly speak out against many of the popular, but destructive, movements in our society such as “wokeness” and “cancel culture.” This is not sheer stubbornness; we believe that Christians have duties to:
1. God’s Word
We believe God’s truth, as recorded in the Bible, to be eternal and we will not water down that truth in order to make it “more appealing”.
2. Follow in Faith
It is our goal through preaching and teaching to help people better understand who God is and what it means to be a faithful follower of Him.
3. Jesus Christ
Our worship and messages seek to demonstrate what it means to be an authentic follower of Christ.
History
LOTW started in the fall of 2000 with 5 families over a Bible study in Pastor Greg’s house. In December of 2000, 10 families gathered to worship in a movie theater. Six months later, the church moved to a shopping center on Hwy 377. In 2003 we moved to our present location and expanded our facilities in October 2014.
Biblically Based
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, and we submit to it as the sole source and rule for life. While other books may be (and often are) beneficial for our growth, no other book holds the authority of the completed work of Scripture; only the Bible is truly necessary. Servant Minded
God’s word teaches us “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) Our ministry on a monthly basis has opportunities for our members to go out and serve the community around us and the culture of the congregation is to respond to those needs enthusiastically.
Outreach Oriented
After His death and resurrection and before ascending into heaven, Jesus instructed His followers and the early church to go to all nations and make disciples. We believe the church’s focus should be outside of the walls of the church and that on every street, in every workplace, and in every school, our members should share the good news of Christ to those they encounter on a daily basis.
Relevant Worship
It is our desire that during worship all would have the opportunity to encounter God as He desires to be worshiped “In Spirit and in Truth.” It isn’t our goal to manipulate people through worship, to simply make it an emotional experience, or to be the coolest and most contemporary church in town. It is our desire that through worship we will use a variety of music and styles to help worshippers encounter God and grow in their relationship with Him.
There are 167 hours in the week outside of the service you attend. For the first part of just 1 hour this week, will you put your life on pause and join the chorus of believers around you, putting Him first?
Faith Development
Jesus commanded his church before returning to heaven to make disciples of all nations. It is our goal to see people do more than simply attend church, but also grow in their faith. We have opportunities for adults to grow in faith and in knowledge through Bible studies available on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and during our last two services on Sunday mornings.
We encourage members and regular attenders to plug into serving in some way, whether it be volunteering in Kids Ministry or helping with the website. These small acts of service bring us into regular community with other believers and help us develop and grow as Christ-followers. None of us can do this alone.

I felt immediately at home the minute I walked in the people are friendly Pastor Greg speaks straight from the Bible. The music is good.
