Serving

Reaching the Communities Around Us
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

One of the primary purposes God gives us in life is to serve one another (Galatians 5:13). In serving one another, we connect to our church and the neighborhoods in which we live. At Light of the World, we ask our members to be the church, not simply go to church. Every month we organize and coordinate an opportunity for 20-50 of our members to go out and serve a need in our local community.

Regular Service Projects

We have all types of regular service projects available, and we post upcoming events on our blog and on our social media pages as each draws near:

  • We host a quarterly Blood Drive at LOTW during Sunday services (“hey, while you’re here…”)
  • We participate in the City of Fort Worth’s “Cowtown Brushup” every year
  • We partner with Habitat for Humanity’s “Habitat Build” twice a year

Annually,

  • We do a Thanksgiving Food Drive in coordination with NICA (Northside Inter-Community Agency),
  • We collect donations for Christmas Angel Trees,
  • We support a local orphan ministry every year with supplies and serve as a resource to them through active foster families in our church.
